The Monadnock Chorus invites you to Rise, Heart, an afternoon of radiant choral music spanning centuries and styles, under the direction of Artistic Director Dr. Sandra Howard.

Our May concerts feature the sparkling joy of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s Regina Coeli, a work alive with brilliance and exultation. We turn then to the intoxicating rhythms and romantic charm of Johannes Brahms’ beloved Liebeslieder Waltzes, Op. 52—a collection of tender, playful, and passionate love songs set to graceful dance.

The program takes its name from the heartfelt lyricism of Ralph Vaughan Williams’ Rise, Heart, music of warmth and quiet nobility, and concludes with Sacred Place by contemporary composer Alex Berko—a luminous and deeply moving reflection on belonging, memory, and reverence.
